For the purposes of engaging this 'game', private correspondence is expected. Sometimes required.
Therefore we shall commence all exchange of data through this space. Data transmitted here will be free of distortion, falsehood, and completely secret. Unless permission is granted to communicate such data with outsiders, whether that be part or the whole.

Yuki is an artificial human created by the Data Integrated Thought Entity to observe Suzumiya Haruhi. There exist quite a few 'helpers' who assist her in accomplishing this, usually by sharing information with her.
But! Since she's at camp, she doesn't have any, so she's trying to recruit her own!
Requirements:
1. Must be female. (Or maybe really really feminine looking?) 2. Must be close to, or at least could maybe pass for, high school-age. 3. Must be obedient, or at least not likely to 'rebel'. 4. A soft-spoken personality is not required, but a plus. 5. Must have no other immediately obvious traits which stick out. (This is flexible I think, Yuki herself sticks out as 'the quiet girl who only reads' right away.)
Yuki will single out a girl, and offer her a book. The book will contain a bookmark that says: "Meet me at x place at x time." There, she'll reveal "I'm an alien. And I'm observing Suzumiya Haruhi." And then posit the question: "Wanna help take notes?" And hopefully interaction and fun roleplaying will be guaranteed for all.
Therefore:
If you have a character who sorta-might fit these requirements, and you want Yuki to attempt to recruit her, comment here!
Or:
If you have a character who sorta-might fit these requirements, and you DON'T want Yuki to attempt to recruit her, comment here!
If you don't particularly care either way, she might attempt to do it someday. XD Probably. |

How does everyone think I'm playing Nagato Yuki at camp? Too talkative? Not talkative enough? Too passive?
Or...
What's everyone's impression of Yuki from how I play her? Creepy? Suspicious? Not-at-all suspicious?
Anonymous comments are fine! |

Yuki's favorite past-time is reading.
Let me rephrase: she is ALWAYS reading. XD She's reading when we first see her; she's reading when we *last* see her; she's reading in most, if not all, of her spare time in the club room; she's reading while she also happens to be water skiing...
That said, she has a list of her 100 favorite books (with some thrown in from Itsuki), composed of both Japanese, English, and some other language titles thrown in as well.
...Because I'm dedicated (or crazy!) I AM working at reading her list, at least the English ones. But this is going to take me, approximately... forever. XD I will continue and add to this essay as I complete more.
Any questions or things to add about books you've happened to read are welcome!
( Speaking generally about complicated things keeps us from going crazy! Aka, what's Yuki's favorite type of book? )
( An Individual Look: Hyperion and its metaphor for the entire series. )
( Switching gears! Serious philosophy enters an anime! Aka, wow, the author of The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi has fancy book-learning. Hegel's Phenomenology of Being! )
( Back to sci-fi horror? Yuki and the original creator of Cthulhu. H.P. Lovecraft! ) |

Okay. This post will contain lot of spoilers. For those of you who haven't yet seen The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi... why? Go to Haruhi's post and get it on direct download. XD
But watch it in the mixed up order! Watching it in "chronological" order... kinda ruins the plot. :O

Character: Nagato Yuki Series: The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi Character Age: Three years old. (Appears and acts about 16-17.) Canon: Nagato Yuki is a shy, serious, tight-lipped girl, who likes books and rarely speaks, even when people are directly speaking to her. That's her projected personality, at least. Yuki is actually a space alien, or rather, an organic interface for the Data Integration Thought Entity. A being created and sent to Earth to act as a liaison between the Entity and mankind, which has proven themselves worthy of investigation. Specifically, Suzumiya Haruhi, who is believed to be able to create anything out of nothing with only her own will, thus being the only known source of auto-evolution, and perhaps a solution for the Entity's own problems regarding... etc. etc. etc. Despite being akin to a puppet for an incomprehensible otherworldly force, Yuki does have her own likes, interests, and even begins to develop her own individual personality at the prodding of her schoolmate and friend Kyon. But she's well known for being the quiet girl, who sits in the back, and hardly ever says a word, always reading... usually science fiction.
Yuki receives orders from the Entity and possesses the ability to more or less alter the world around her at will with her command of "data", pure manipulation of her surroundings. Her powers are such that she dislikes admitting anything is impossible for her, but can usually provide reasons why she doesn't use her power.

Humidity, 90%. Visibility, within 0.25 miles. Data source: "weather channel". Data retrieval unit: laptop computer.
Contact with the Data Integration Thought Entity has been severed. Likely originating from the barrier that encloses the camp. Continued lack of contact will make it difficult to continue the study of Suzumiya Haruhi. Possible theories regarding current space, 'camp':
Pocket universe: Suzumiya Haruhi, bored with the current universe to the point of exhaustion, but not Armageddon, has created a new reality to escape to personally. This reality, unbound by logic, reason, or the human social construct known as "decency," exists to placate her. Possibility: 50%
Beach house: Same as above, but this reality always existed. Suzumiya Haruhi among others is a prisoner, unable to return until the ratio of excitement to ennui reaches a yet unknown threshold. Assuming this is correct, Suzumiya Haruhi could be expected to return to familiar space in a time frame approximating... three centuries to five millennia.
Other theories negligible. Analyzing possible courses of action. . .
Deactivation of the barrier: Impossible. Lowering the barrier would free the inhabitants of the camp, consisting of at least eight differing genres of pop culture. The surrounding ecosystem would be devastated within a period of ten days. Permanent damage; cannot be allowed.
Contact with the outside authorities: Impossible. The very existence of the 'camp' violates at least three amendments of the United States constitution, as well as numerous local laws. At the exposure of camp, the government would fall from the resulting chaos within a year. "Societal collapse" has a tendency to cause damage to the nearby environment; cannot be allowed.
Standing up and walking away: Impossible. This is a laptop computer.

Currently locating the library. It will become necessary to acquire data relevant to this camp's interests if I am to remain undiscovered in pursuit of my mission regarding Suzumiya Haruhi. Attempting manual up-link. Downloading. . .

Suspending all non-essential operations to devote all available resources to current procedure: my brain needs to be defragmented. With fire.
